Obamacare: Good or Bad? More Efficent?

Here’s an example of the Canadian “socialized medicine” plan and then a chart of the House-Democrats-Health-Plan bureaucratic nightmare chart.

It’s Not An Option

Washington does not have the constitutional or moral authority to outlaw private markets in which parties voluntarily participate. It shouldn’t be killing business opportunities, or limiting choices, or legislating major changes in Americans’ lives.

It took just 16 pages of reading to find this naked attempt by the political powers to increase their reach. It’s scary to think how many more breaches of liberty we’ll come across in the final 1,002.

This is another government takeover….as I’ve been saying!

Obama has spent much political capital arguing that his health care plan is going to actually save us money because it will be super dooper efficient. However, as anyone who has visited a VA hospital knows, once the bureaucrats get a hold of this thing, you can kiss all efficiency right out the door. To illustrate the absurdity of government efficiency and how much of a beast this new health care plan will be, this chart has been released (the link will take you to a larger PDF of the file). Yes this chart was made by the GOP, but I challenge you to name one government program that has brought greater efficiency and less complexity and waste? This is another power grab of the federal government and more control. Once these new agencies are created, they NEVER go away. (you can click on this chart and make it bigger)

Sometimes We Post Too Quickly

Filed under: General — Steve Hilton @ 4:04 PM

Sometimes we get stuff that we don’t check, because we feel like when we get it from our readers, we think they checked it before hand.  That’s not always the case.  When we don’t, sometimes we get caught, especially by folks who wish to be derrogatory instead of a helpful correction.  In the case of the castration article that appeared (we have removed it), we have the following comment from cpbetas12:

Did you bother to click on the headline you just posted? If you did, you would have noticed “Carbolic Smoke Ball, Proud Publishers of Fake News since 2005″.

You’ll never hear the Senate ask her about castration because they’re not suckers like you!

We are big enough to say we were wrong, and we’ll try to do better.  At least I didn’t call you a name.

Obama plan: Delinquent homeowners will surrender ownership to Feds and rent houses from government

Well another great government takeover to add to all the rest……we’re just sliding right down that slippery slope to socialism/facism/Communism. Just more insanity here in America…..land of the free government renters. Will smokers be able to smoke in their new government rental property? Will they be able to own firearms in their new government property?  Do you suppose Goldman Sachs will own the houses? Will we survive four year of  this of this man in office as a Republic Democracy?   Too bad there isn’t a legal way to get this man out of office NOW !

Obama plan: Delinquent homeowners will surrender ownership to Feds and rent houses from government

U.S. officials are weighing a plan to let borrowers who have fallen behind on mortgage payments avoid eviction by renting their home instead, sources familiar with the administration’s thinking said on Tuesday.

Under one idea being discussed, delinquent homeowners would surrender ownership of their homes, but would continue to live in the property for several years, the sources told Reuters.

A U.S. Treasury spokeswoman said late on Tuesday that “we are constantly reviewing new ways to help struggling homeowners and stabilize the housing market. This is just one idea among many that has been considered, but no decisions are imminent on the matter.”

Officials have been frustrated as red tape and rising interest rates have slowed a housing rescue plan announced in February that was meant to refinance the mortgages of 5 million borrowers and lower monthly payments for 4 million more.

A housing crisis of record defaults began in 2006 at the end of a five-year housing boom of easy lending. But the current crisis is being driven as much by climbing unemployment.

Since one in five homeowners owe more than their property is worth, they have little cushion if they lose their job or face another crisis, said Jay Brinkmann, the chief economist for the Mortgage Bankers Association.

“Foreclosure is a double trigger — does someone have a job and do they owe more than a home is worth?” Brinkmann asked.

On Monday, an administration official told Reuters that the Treasury Department is mulling new ways to save jobless homeowners from foreclosure as it continues to expand its mortgage aid.

The official told Reuters it was reasonable for policy-makers to consider terms for loan forbearance — letting borrowers delay, defer or skip payments — and that they should be in keeping with other aid for the unemployed.

Officials are mulling several ideas on how to swap a homeowner’s loan for a rental lease without disrupting mortgage markets.

The government could pay mortgage service companies cash to take part in the program — or encourage lenders to sell the homes to a third party that would write rental agreements — under two scenarios under consideration.

“It could be a ‘win-win’ for the homeowner (and how is that?), the lender who has a troubled borrower and the non-profit,” he said. (Reporting by Patrick Rucker; Editing by Jan Paschal)
