State Representative Susan Lynn has four pieces of legislation by Rep. Susan Lynn that will be up for a vote in the Industrial Impact Subcommittee of the House Commerce Committee on Wednesday, March 24th.
Tennessee Action Item: Storm the Industrial Impact Subcommittee!
The four pieces of legislation by Rep. Susan Lynn will be up for a vote in the Industrial Impact Subcommittee of the House Commerce Committee on Wednesday, March 24 at 10:00 AM Central. This is a huge step forward, but we have to make sure to keep up the pressure on both Republican and Democratic members of the subcommittee to ensure that they pass. Please be sure to be courteous, but firm in all interactions with the subcommittee members.
Rep. Lynn’s bills are:
HJR704 – a resolution protesting the proposed federal review and preemption of state health insurance laws,
HB2622 – a bill that would prevent the state legislature from requiring any person to participate in any health care system,
HJR722 – a resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Tennessee that would establish a free enterprise system of government for the state, and
HJR745 – a resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Tennessee preventing any person or health care provider from being penalized for refusing to participate in any health care plan.
In addition, two other important bills to ensure the health care freedom of Tennesseans will be considered by the Industrial Impact Subcommittee on the same day. Please be sure to add your support for these bills when calling or corresponding with legislators about Rep. Lynn’s bills.
HB3433/SB3498 – enacts the Tennessee Health Freedom Act, which has already been passed by the full Senate, and requires the state’s attorney general to protect Tennesseans from penalties if they choose not to participate in the federal health care plan.(like the State of Virginia has already passed.)
In support of these bills, a Code Red Rally will be held at the state capitol in Nashville tomorrow at noon. Additionally, a Camp at the Capitol protest is planned to begin at 10:00 AM in Nashville on Tuesday, March 23 and will go for a full 24 hours until the votes have been taken on these bills. If you can be there for even a short time, please plan to attend.
It is critical that we get every Tennessean possible to be at the Industrial Impact Subcommittee meeting for the votes on Wednesday, March 24 at 10:00 AM Central time. The subcommittee will meet in the Legislative Plaza Building, in room HHR31. The entrance to the building is at the corner of Union Street and 6th Avenue. There is a security desk immediately upon entering that can provide directions to the meeting room.
