Obama supporters shocked, angry at new tax increases

Comments Off on Obama supporters shocked, angry at new tax increases

Sometimes, watching a Democrat learn something is wonderful, like seeing the family dog finally sit and stay at your command.

With President Obama back in office and his life-saving “fiscal cliff” bill jammed through Congress, the new year has brought a surprising turn of events for his sycophantic supporters.

“What happened that my Social Security withholding’s in my paycheck just went up?” a poster wrote on the liberal site DemocraticUnderground.com. “My paycheck just went down by an amount that I don’t feel comfortable with. I guarantee this decrease is gonna’ hurt me more than the increase in income taxes will hurt those making over 400 grand. What happened?”

Shocker. Democrats who supported the president’s re-election just had NO idea that his steadfast pledge to raise taxes meant that he was really going to raise taxes. They thought he planned to just hit those filthy “1 percenters,” you know, the ones who earned fortunes through their inventiveness and hard work. They thought the free ride would continue forever.

So this week, as taxes went up for millions of Americans — which Republicans predicted throughout the campaign would happen — it was fun to watch the agoggery of the left.

“I know to expect between $93 and $94 less in my paycheck on the 15th,” wrote the ironically named “RomneyLies.”

“My boyfriend has had a lot of expenses and is feeling squeezed right now, and having his paycheck shrink really didn’t help,” wrote “DemocratToTheEnd.”

“BlueIndyBlue” added: “Many of my friends didn’t realize it, either. Our payroll department didn’t do a good job of explaining the coming changes.”

So let’s explain something to our ill-informed Democratic friends. In 2009, Mr. Obama enacted a “holiday” on the payroll tax deduction from employees’ paychecks, dropping the rate from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent. But like the holidays, the drop ended, and like New Year‘s, the revelers woke up the next morning with a massive hangover and a pounding head.

US Government For Dummies

Comments Off on US Government For Dummies

Rome became wealthy when was government powers were limited and the people became free to produce were allowed to keep most of what they earned.

In the midst of plenty the Romans forgot what freedom entailed: they forgot that the essence of freedom is the proper limitation of government. When government power grows — and the people’s freedom recedes.

Once the Romans dropped their guard, power-seeking politicians exceeded the powers granted to them in the Constitution.

Some learned that they could elect politicians that would take government powers to take from some and give to others…AND IT ALL WENT DOWNHILL FROM THERE.

SOUND FAMILIAR? This YOUTUBE video explains the problem with a DEMOCRACY as opposed to a Republic.

Next time someone claims we are a democracy, you can easily shoot down that description and explain to them that WE ARE NOT.

Individual Health Insurance Premiums Skyrocket After Obamacare

Comments Off on Individual Health Insurance Premiums Skyrocket After Obamacare

We told you so:

Health insurance companies across the country are seeking and winning double-digit increases in premiums for some customers, even though one of the biggest objectives of the Obama administration’s health care law was to stem the rapid rise in insurance costs for consumers.

Particularly vulnerable to the high rates are small businesses and people who do not have employer-provided insurance and must buy it on their own.

In California, Aetna is proposing rate increases of as much as 22 percent, Anthem Blue Cross 26 percent and Blue Shield of California 20 percent for some of those policy holders, according to the insurers’ filings with the state for 2013. These rate requests are all the more striking after a 39 percent rise sought by Anthem Blue Cross in 2010 helped give impetus to the law, known as the Affordable Care Act, which was passed the same year and will not be fully in effect until 2014.

In other states, like Florida and Ohio, insurers have been able to raise rates by at least 20 percent for some policy holders. The rate increases can amount to several hundred dollars a month.

White House Bans Paparazzi Images of Sasha and Malia Obama on Hawaiian Beach

Comments Off on White House Bans Paparazzi Images of Sasha and Malia Obama on Hawaiian Beach

Going against the 1st amendment I might add….this was a public beach.

A paparazzo who took photographs of the daughters of President Barack Obama walking along a Hawaiian beach last week made a big mistake — at least, in the eyes of the Oval Office.

Because as soon as the images of Sasha and Malia were sent out to news outlets around the world, the photographer received an official letter from the White House telling him to immediately stop their release, Celebuzz has exclusively learned.

Ironically, the man was waiting for pregnant Hollywood star Jessica Simpson to leave her Kailua Beach retreat in Honolulu County when the Presidential sisters, vacationing with their famous parents in an adjacent property since Dec. 21, came walking-by.

“After he took the photographs, agents from the United States Secret Service came over and asked him for identification,” according to a source who insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. Celebuzz has chosen not to name the photographer.

6 facts about the 14th Amendment

Comments Off on 6 facts about the 14th Amendment

This from Politico of all places, I fully expect Obama to attempt to use the 14th amendment to raise the Debt Ceiling, even tho the Constitution plainly says in Article I Section 4  of the Constitution  that Congress “shall have the power . . . to borrow money on the credit of the United States.”, “the validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law . . . shall not be questioned.”…so whom is “authorized by law”? …Congress that’s who, not the President. So the President has NO authority under the 14 amendment or the Constitution to raise the debt ceiling on his/her own…..NONE!

“The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law … shall not be questioned,” reads the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The upcoming fight to raise the national debt ceiling has again pushed the clause into the spotlight. Here is some important recent history on the issue:

1. In July 2011, former President Bill Clinton said he would use the 14th Amendment to raise the national debt ceiling “without hesitation, and force the courts to stop me” if a default was in sight. It’s “necessary to pay for appropriations already made, so you can’t say, ‘Well, we won the last election and we didn’t vote for some of that stuff, so we’re going to throw the whole country’s credit into arrears.’”

2. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has put her support behind unilaterial presidential action on the debt ceiling by using the 14th. “I would just go do it. But the Congress has incurred much of this debt. And so what are you saying, we incurred it but we’re not going to pay it?” Pelosi said.

3. The White House has looked into the 14th Amendment option, but President Barack Obama ruled out it out during the most recent debt ceiling debate in 2011. “I have talked to my lawyers,” Mr. Obama said. “They are not persuaded that that is a winning argument.”

4. In 1935, the Supreme Court took up the public debt issue and said only that Congress cannot “alter or destroy” incurred debts.

5. It’s likely the Court wouldn’t take up the case if the president unilaterally raises the debt ceiling, but the justices would rule in “a lopsided margin” for Obama if he were challenged, according to The New Republic.

6. There’s little doubt the 14th Amendment option would infuriate Republicans in Congress. In 2011 debt ceiling fight, Texas Sen. John Cornyn, now the Senate’s No. 2 Republican, said it was “crazy talk.”

The Left Is Convinced Americans Won’t Fight For 2nd Amendment Rights

Comments Off on The Left Is Convinced Americans Won’t Fight For 2nd Amendment Rights

They are badly mistaken I believe….

second amendment SC The Left Is convinced Americans wont fight for 2nd Amendment rights

Once cowed at the thought of provoking Second Amendment supporters, leftists will soon attempt to ban “assault weapons” (and much more) as legislation offered by Dianne Feinstein makes its way to the Senate floor. It seems that D.C. liberals have finally become convinced that American gun owners are too cowardly, too lazy or too dependent upon the generosity of Big Brother to fight for their Second Amendment rights.

During the past four years, the gun banning-Left have watched as American buyers broke sales records in the purchase of semi-automatic rifles.  Opting for these and other powerful, efficient weapons, it is estimated that some 100 million private citizens are now in possession of over 300 million firearms. And these numbers continue to grow with each passing month.

Yet it’s against this backdrop of America’s unprecedented determination to assert the fundamental permanence of Second  Amendment guarantees that Diane Feinstein, Michael Bloomberg, Barack Obama and others will choose to implement gun bans, demand the federal registration of firearms, and even legislate outright confiscation.

Maybe Democrats are confident that fallout from Sandy Hook will provide the floor votes necessary to  disarm the American people. But if the Left is willing to risk picking this fight with millions of American gun owners, it must also believe something far more important—that Americans who have spent years arming themselves against the ultimate expression of tyranny by their own government–the overthrow of the Second Amendment– will choose to not fight when the time finally comes.

For decades, the Left have watched Americans simply “lie down” before every imaginable outrage and legislative assault on our liberty. The Constitution has been prostituted by power-hungry, America-hating Marxists in Congress, on the federal bench and in the White House. Elected officials have laughed when asked to provide Constitutional authority for the passage of massively unpopular pieces of legislation. Tax dollars are insolently manipulated to purchase votes, grease the skids of questionable legislation, and add to the wealth of bureaucrats and elected officials. And through it all, Americans are robbed of more and more liberty as we do nothing but “vote ‘em in and cuss ‘em out” every two years.

Liberals have come to depend upon the willingness of Americans to subordinate their desire for liberty to the wishes and whims of the political ruling class. The cowardly are rewarded for relenting while those with the courage to question dictatorial authority and refuse to submit are accused of domestic terrorism. And all who press their own beliefs—or worse, those of the nations’ Founders– are met with ridicule or intimidation in what was at one time a nation of free, thinking individuals.

In short, the Left has come to expect cowardice or disinterested submission from a people trained for decades to accept as given that the good intentions of their elected betters are sufficient to fulfill the requirements of constitutional authority.  And it’s a safe bet neither Democrats nor RINO’s will expect anything different from the majority of Americans this time around as Feinstein and Company legislate last rites and a funeral for the Second Amendment.

We know what the Left believe. We’ll soon find out if they are right.
