State Senator Mark Green Leaves Alexander Campaign

Comments Off on State Senator Mark Green Leaves Alexander Campaign

Would you consider that Tennessee has in its state legislature a man who we might compare to Trey Gowdy, Mike Lee, or Ted Cruz?

Should it be necessary to call our US Senators to request they do the right thing by opposing the Immigration Bill?  If 75% of all Americans have been able to figure out that the Senate Bill is destructive, on their own, shouldn’t US Senators Corker and Alexander lead us to the right vote rather than requiring our phone calls, pleadings, and threats?  They are after all, adults, right?

Recently, Senator Jim Summerville publicly withdrew his announced support for the re-election of Senator Alexander who runs again in 2014.

This week, enjoy with me the satisfaction of knowing that there is another manly man, Senator Mark Green from Clarksville who has canceled his appearance with Senator Alexander at a huge fund raising event on July 20 at the Smyrna airport because of Alexander’s vote for amnesty for illegals.  (Gentleman that he is, Dr. Green has requested an audience with Senator Alexander.)

Be reminded that it was Senator Green, while an army physician in Iraq who was charged with keeping healthy the Iraqi President, Saddam Hussein…until we could hang him.

Brings a tear to me eye and makes me wonder if Senator Green honed his discernment for powerful, dishonest and disingenuous leaders while caring for Iraq’s notorious leader.

We MUST encourage and support our elected officials who not only stand up to Progressives but more importantly stand up to Progressivism in the Republican Party.  They get huge amounts of pressure from their Ron Ramseys and Beth Harwells.  Our affirmation of people like Summerville and Green can help them feel that they are indeed the true representatives of The People.

Please contact your own representatives, ask them to publicly oppose Lamar Alexander and let them know that they can count on your support of their opponent if they do otherwise.

There will be a counter rally on July 20 at that Alexander event.  Let’s show the good Senator that there is unity against wanderings and indiscretion, that it does matter to us that he is more a representative to DC than to Tennessee.

The care among Republicans about principle is outweighed by their concern to candidate loyalty and party loyalty.  Nine-Twelve puts principle and values first in its loyalties.  Everything else comes after that.

Lamar doesn’t care about us, he’s quite content that his war chest is bulging and he’s satisfied that the low information voters of Tennessee will blindly elect any Republican the party puts forward.

Is he right?

Obama the Dictator? -Delaying the Employer Mandate Requires Delaying All of Obamacare

Comments Off on Obama the Dictator? -Delaying the Employer Mandate Requires Delaying All of Obamacare

The employer mandate is so intimately tied to the rest of the law that the IRS cannot delay it without delaying the rest of Obamacare. Do we live under the rule of law or a dictator?

The IRS has announced it will postpone the start date of Obamacare’s “employer mandate” from 2014 to 2015. Most of the reaction has focused on how this move is an implicit acknowledgement that Obamacare is harmful, cannot work, and will prove a liability for Democrats going into the November 2014 elections. The Washington Post called the decision a “fresh setback” and a “significant interruption” to the law’s implementation. John McDonough, a prominent supporter of the law, observes, “You’ve given the employer community a sense of confidence that maybe they can kill this. If I were an employer, I would smell blood in the water.” When a die-hard Obamacare supporter like Ezra Klein says the employer mandate should be repealed, clearly things are not going well.

While all of this is true, it misses the two most significant implications of this momentous development:

First, the IRS’s unilateral decision to delay the employer mandate is the latest indication that we do not live under a Rule of Law, but under a Rule of Rulers who write and rewrite laws at whim, without legitimate authority, and otherwise compel behavior to suit their ends. Congress gave neither the IRS nor the president any authority to delay the imposition of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s employer mandate. In the section of the law creating that mandate, Congress included several provisions indicating the mandate will take effect in 2014. In case those provisions were not clear enough, Section 4980H further clarifies:

(d) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendments made by this section shall apply to months beginning after December 31, 2013.

It is hard to see how the will of the people’s elected representatives – including President Obama, who signed that effective date into law – could have been expressed more clearly, or how it could be clearer that the IRS has no legitimate power to delay the mandate. Again, Ezra Klein: “This is a regulatory end-run of the legislative process. The law says the mandate goes into effect in 2014, but the administration has decided to give it until 2015 by simply refusing to enforce the penalties.” (The administration will delay the mandate, under what authority?)

Religion of Peace Update- Husband cuts off fingers of wife

Comments Off on Religion of Peace Update- Husband cuts off fingers of wife

A jealous husband is facing life in prison after chopping off his wife’s fingers because she began studying for a degree without his permission.

Rafiqul Islam, 30, blindfolded his wife Hawa Akhter, 21, and taped her mouth, telling her he was going to give her a surprise present.

Instead he made her hold out her hand and cut off all five fingers. One of his relatives then threw Ms Akhter’s fingers in the dustbin to ensure doctors could not reattach them.

Hawa Akhter has said she will continue her studies, despite the horrific attackHawa Akhter has said she will continue her studies, despite the horrific attack

Mr Islam, who is a migrant worker in the United Arab Emirates, had warned his wife there would ‘severe consequences’ if she did not give up her studies.

‘After he came back to Bangladesh, he wanted to have a discussion with me,’ Ms Akhter told The Times.

‘Suddenly, he blindfolded me and tied my hand. He also taped my mouth saying that he would give me some surprise gifts. But, instead he cut off my fingers.’

Obamacare Employer Mandate Delayed, But Not for Individuals

Comments Off on Obamacare Employer Mandate Delayed, But Not for Individuals

Hurt Democrats in the 2014 election is the key and only reason for this. Obamacare is a job killer…This law needs to  be repealed or defunded fast! This looks discrimiatory to me against individuals and the mandate not be delayed for them as well….not to mention uncontitutional, no matter what Chief Justice Roberts says.

OBAMACARE.  The Obama administration will delay the employer mandate until 2015, Bloomberg reports:

The Obama administration will delay a crucial provision of its signature health-care law, giving businesses an extra year to comply with a requirement that they provide their workers with insurance.

The government will postpone enforcement of the so-called employer mandate until 2015, after the congressional elections, the administration said yesterday. Under the provision, companies with 50 or more workers face a fine of as much as $3,000 per employee if they don’t offer affordable insurance.

Heritage responded saying this begs the question, “If the employer mandate will prove so devastating to businesses that it can’t be enforced in 2014—following three years of implementation work—why should it be enforced at all?”:

However, the problem is not just Obamacare’s employer mandate—the real problem is Obamacare itself. The same individuals who said Obamacare would create jobs, not destroy them, are now the same ones who will say the Administration can “fix” the employer mandate, if only given another year to do so. Conservatives should not be fooled, appeased, or assuaged. Instead, today’s developments should provide every incentive for the American people to redouble their efforts to repeal, defund, and dismantle ALL of this bureaucratic, unworkable law.

The idea that selectively enforcing one provision of the law could “solve” all the problems inherent in Obamacare is absurd on its face.

They added:

It is hard to understate the impact of today’s devastating admission from the Administration that, after three years, it still cannot implement Obamacare without strangling businesses in red tape and destroying American jobs. That said, it is still not too late for Congress to do the right thing, and refuse to fund what the Administration has now—finally—admitted is a job-killing train wreck.

Defiant Muslim Brotherhood on collision course with army

Watch: Live coverage of Tahrir Square protests

BREAKING: Military officers are present in state TV newsroom, monitoring content before ultimatum.

Cairo: The Muslim Brotherhood’s defiant reaction to an ultimatum given by the army sets the tone for a showdown between Egypt’s powerful group and the military, according to analysts.

On Monday, the army sternly told President Mohammad Mursi, who belongs to the Brotherhood, to end a deep political crisis with the opposition and gave him two days to “respond to the people’s demands”.

“The Brotherhood will not surrender easily in this battle for survival even after the Armed Forces’ intervention in the crisis,” said Helmi Farouq, a military expert.

Hours after the army’s warning, the Brotherhood ordered its supporters to take to the streets across the nation to object to what its officials called the army’s “coup against legitimacy”.

The secular opposition is demanding that Mursi, Egypt’s first democratically elected president, steps down and calls early presidential elections. His backers have vowed he will complete his term, which ends in 2016.

“The Brotherhood’s defiant response is predictable. I think the army expected this and is prepared to handle it. The Brotherhood will resist until the last breath, making use of its Islamist allies in order to cling to power,” Farouq told Gulf News.

Some backers of Mursi have openly threatened to cause unrest if he is forced to resign.

“Such threats may be a mere bluff or they can become true as the noose is further tightened around Mursi. You can expect further trouble particularly in Sinai,” Farouq said, referring to Egypt’s restive desert peninsula believed to have drawn hundreds of jihadists in recent months.

National Intelligence Director Apologizes for Lying to Congress

Comments Off on National Intelligence Director Apologizes for Lying to Congress

So what else did he lie about?

The director of National Intelligence apologized in June to the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee for lying during a hearing, according to a letter published on the DNI website on Tuesday.

Director James Clapper appeared before the committee in March, where Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., asked him specifically if NSA spies on millions of Americans. Clapper answered, “No.”

Since then, Edward Snowden reportedly leaked government documents that unveiled a secretive government program that did precisely what Wyden suggested in collecting meta data for cell phone and internet records of hundreds of millions of Americans.

Clapper says the intricacy of Wyden’s question – asking for a clarification of “hundreds of millions of dossiers on people” – combined with a need to preserve classified information prompted him to give the wrong answer.

“My response was clearly erroneous – for which I apologize,” he wrote in the letter to committee chair Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. “While my staff acknowledged the error to Sen. Wyden’s staff soon after the hearing, I can now openly correct it because the existence of the metadata collection program has been declassified.”

News of the apology was first reported by Forbes.
