Trayvon Martin’s dad tells lawmakers to name gun control law after son

Comments Off on Trayvon Martin’s dad tells lawmakers to name gun control law after son

Well I think we now see the real reason for all the hype over Trayvon Martin/ George Zimmerman, while ignoring other worse shootings nationwide…….the real reason? Another excuse to pass gun control legislation, that why all the hype or an unfortunate incident. Another reason to meddle in State affairs, such as concealed carry laws? A law for a teen that was taking drugs, robbing people, getting expelled from school, breaking into houses, and trying to kill people? a law to keep people from protecting themselves in public from this type person? Is that what we want?

Tracy Martin, the father of killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, said to legislators during a Wednesday appearance on Capitol Hill that he’d like to see his son’s name attached to a measure that cracks down on right-to-carry gun laws.

“I think 50 years from now, when I’m dead and gone, I would like to see Trayvon Martin’s name attached to some type of statute, amendment, that says you can’t simply profile our children, shoot them in the heart, kill them and say you were defending yourself,” he said, to the Congressional Caucus on Black Men and Boys, United Press International reported.

Mr. Martin also said he wouldn’t allow the acquittal of George Zimmerman of murder charges “sum up who Trayvon was,” WUSA-TV in Washington reported.

He’d like to see his son’s death lead to reforms in stand-your-ground laws, he said, UPI reported.

Other attendees at the gathering, meanwhile, said black America was reeling from the trial and wanted change.

Rep. Frederica Wilson said black males “are angry,” UPI reported. “They have a hole in their heart for all kinds of societal issues that impact black boys that I am so familiar with.”

Boehner Non-Committal on Defunding Obamacare Mandate

Comments Off on Boehner Non-Committal on Defunding Obamacare Mandate

Well folks here’s the Republicans probably last chance to do anything substantial about Obamacare, since they can’t abolish or repeal it until Obama is gone from office and then it will be entrenched as law and very hard to get rid of. The reality is, Obamacare is going to be exact opposite of what we were told when it passed, it will cost jobs, make 28 hrs a week into the new 40 hr week, make insurance premuims sky rocket and still leave 30 million uninsured, which is about what is it right now before Obamacare  takes full effect in 2014.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Thursday said Republicans will do “everything we can” so Americans are not put through the “horrific experience” of Obamacare but would not say if that includes blocking its funding in the continuing resolution, the surest way to halt the individual mandate and other aspects of the law slated for implementation in 2014.

“No decision has been made about how we’re going to deal with the CR next month, in September,” Boehner said when asked if he agreed with Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) that funding for the individual mandate be halted in the continuing resolution, or CR, in the fall.

The CR is a catch-all funding mechanism that has been used frequently over the last few years because Congress has not passed, nor the president signed, a fiscal year budget. The CR, under negotiation now, would appropriate funds to keep the government operating past Sept. 30, the end of fiscal year 2013.

“Obamacare in my view, it’s driving up the cost of health insurance. It’s denying people access to quality care, and it’s killing jobs in America,” Boehner said during a press conference on Capitol Hill. “That’s why we voted some 39, 40 times to defund or repeal Obamacare.”

Boehner then took credit for forcing President Obama to make changes to the health care law, such as delaying the employer mandate for big corporations — but not for small businesses and individuals — until past 2014.

“And I would remind you that the president has signed seven changes to Obamacare into law,” he said. “That would never have happened had it not been for our continued efforts to defund this and repeal it.”

“As we get into the fall, we’re going to continue to point out what I think are big flaws in the system,” Boehner said. “How can you provide subsidies through these health exchanges without verifying people’s income? Our job is to protect the American people. It’s to spend their taxpayer money wisely. I think it’s wide open for abuse.

“[This is] just one of a number of issues I expect we’ll continue to work on as we do everything we can to make sure this doesn’t really go into effect,” he said.

But when asked if “everything we can” includes defunding the law — and specifically in the continuing resolution — Boehner was non-committal.

“We will continue to do everything we can to defund it, to repeal it and to make sure that the American people aren’t put through this horrific experience,” he said. then asked Boehner about Senator Lee’s plan to block any funding bill that includes spending to implement Obamacare. asked: “Senator Mike Lee wants the upcoming continuing resolution to include language that prohibits funding for the individual mandate in Obamacare because the similar mandate for big corporations for business has already been postponed by the president. Do you agree with him that funding for the individual mandate be halted in the CR?”

Boehner said, “No decision has been made about how we’re going to deal with the CR next month, in September.” then asked again, “Just on that note also, are you ruling out the CR? Sen. Lee and others in the House are saying it’s now or never to block funding for Obamacare, so do you agree with that?”

“We have not made any decisions about how we’re going to deal with the CR,” Boehner replied.

Lee and Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) are gathering support in both chambers to block funding for the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) in a must-pass bill, most likely the stop-gap spending bill to keep the government funded after Sept. 30, the continuing resolution.

At least 14 Republican senators have already signed on to Sen. Lee’s proposal. They include Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.), James Risch (Idaho), Ted Cruz (Texas), Mike Enzi (Wyoming), John Cornyn (Texas), John Thune (S.D.), James Inhofe (Okla.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), Chuck Grassley (Iowa), Rand Paul (Ky.), David Vitter (La.), Rocger Wicker (Miss.) Deb Fischer (Neb.) and Jeff Chisea (N.J.).

A CBS News poll released this week found that more Americans than ever want Obamacare repealed, and 54 percent disapprove of the health care law.

On Wednesday, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) questioned whether Boehner and the GOP leadership have “the guts” to defund Obamacare.

“Republicans are the only possible salvation that we have, because Democrats have made their decision,” Bachmann said.

“And so it’s whether or not the Republicans in the House have the guts to fight, because it’s like [Winston] Churchill famously said – if you don’t fight now, it’s going to be a lot harder to fight later,” she said.

“This is it,” Bachmann said. “This is our last big effort, and it’s really less than about five months.

“Can we do it? Yeah, it’s possible, but I think the signals I’m reading out of the Republican leadership to me aren’t encouraging,” she said.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott to Eric Holder on Voter ID: If It’s War You Want, It’s War You’ve Got

Comments Off on Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott to Eric Holder on Voter ID: If It’s War You Want, It’s War You’ve Got

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is responding quickly and forcefully to Obama Attorney General Eric Holder’s decision to rope Texas back into the Voting Rights Act. The US Supreme Court just struck part of that law down.

A minute later, Abbott followed up with another tweet.

The facts are on Abbott’s side. Texas specifically modeled its voter ID law on Indiana’s. That law has already been taken all the way to the US Supreme Court and was upheld. The Texas law enjoys widespread support across all ethnicities in the state. Only the Texas Democrat Party and its allies oppose it.

The Obama administration has been very consistent about opposing laws that buttress election security, and it has been very consistent about punishing states that don’t get in line with Obama’s radical agenda. Holder’s lawsuit is just another example of both.

The lawsuit comes just after Abbott announced his run for governor. It will give him a major platform from which to oppose Obama and Holder, which will play very well in Texas. Frankly, Abbott was already heavily favored to win. Now he’s all but a lock.

Update: Texas Gov. Rick Perry posted the following statement on his Facebook page.

“Once again, the Obama Administration is demonstrating utter contempt for our country’s system of checks and balances, not to mention the U.S. Constitution. This end-run around the Supreme Court undermines the will of the people of Texas, and casts unfair aspersions on our state’s common-sense efforts to preserve the integrity of our elections process.”

Update: Land Commissioner and Lt. Gov candidate Jerry Patterson responds.

DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS – The latest federal attack on Texas has been launched today, and Eric Holder is back in his role as Barack Obama’s chief aggressor. There is no longer any pretense about hiding the partisan agenda to target our state. This latest attack is not about voting rights, and everything to do with destroying and diminishing the success of the Lone Star State. Our very existence is an affront to this administration, but we aren’t going anywhere, and we aren’t scared of a fight. Better dig in for the long haul, my fellow lovers of liberty – this is just the beginning.

Update: True the Vote, which is one of the victims of the scandals that President Obama called “phony” yesterday, responds.

Update: State Sen. Dan Patrick, who is also running for Lt. Gov. gets a bank shot on Wendy Davis.

Update: Sen. Ted Cruz reacts:

Attorney General Holder’s recent announcement is just the latest example of his politicization of the Department of Justice. Holder’s refusal to accept the judgment of the U.S. Supreme Court regarding preclearance continues the Department’s longstanding pattern of refusing to follow the law.

Likewise, Holder continues to attack voter ID laws, even though the Supreme Court has concluded that voter ID laws are supported by multiple interests that are “unquestionably relevant to the State’s interest in protecting the integrity and reliability of the electoral process.”

The FBI wants our email passwords, Obama is equivilant to the KGB!

Comments Off on The FBI wants our email passwords, Obama is equivilant to the KGB!

Folks we have seen it coming where the American version of the KGB, the FBI has begun acting just like the KGB, spying on its own citizens. I wonder how long it will be before the Dictator in office, or one of his liberal faithful minions gives him the idea of trashing the Constitution altogether? How long before he actually declares martial law, saying it’s for our good, our security? Honestly and in reality not long at all. I say that for this reason. Obama has to find some reason to stay in office, to keep this plush lifestyle. I believe he will do anything to stay in, and I mean anything no matter the circumstances.

Here is the beginning reported by CNET:

The US Government has demanded major Internet companies to surrender passwords of that company’s users.

The U.S. government has demanded that major Internet companies divulge users’ stored passwords, according to two industry sources familiar with these orders, which represent an escalation in surveillance techniques that has not previously been disclosed.

If the government is able to determine a person’s password, which is typically stored in encrypted form, the credential could be used to log in to an account to peruse confidential correspondence or even impersonate the user. Obtaining it also would aid in deciphering encrypted devices in situations where passwords are reused.

“I’ve certainly seen them ask for passwords,” said one Internet industry source who spoke on condition of anonymity. “We push back.”

A second person who has worked at a large Silicon Valley company confirmed that it received legal requests from the federal government for stored passwords. Companies “really heavily scrutinize” these requests, the person said. “There’s a lot of ‘over my dead body.'”

Some of the government orders demand not only a user’s password but also the encryption algorithm and the so-called salt, according to a person familiar with the requests. A salt is a random string of letters or numbers used to make it more difficult to reverse the encryption process and determine the original password. Other orders demand the secret question codes often associated with user accounts.

Michelle to Hispanics: Your Race Tends to Be Fat

Comments Off on Michelle to Hispanics: Your Race Tends to Be Fat

While insulting Hispanics, she is also trying to divide Hispanics against Whites as well. Comparing everthing to “whites”. Wait, all of the sudden Hispanics are separate from Whites again? I thought Zimmerman was a “white hispanic”? Now they are separate again. What ever suits the momment I guess.

According to Michelle Obama, Hispanic kids are more obese and less active. Do you think a Conservative could get away with something like this?

From Washington Examiner:

“Sadly all these changes and how we live and eat are having a devastating effect on our children’s health,” she said. “Right now nearly 40 percent Hispanic children in this country are overweight or obese – nearly 50 percent are on track to develop diabetes.”

Michelle Obama noted that Hispanics were also worried about the safety of their children – citing it as a reason that Hispanic children weren’t as active as white children.

Mark Levin: Obama’s Economic Growth Record ‘Worst In Sixty Years’

Comments Off on Mark Levin: Obama’s Economic Growth Record ‘Worst In Sixty Years’

The Great One was on the money today going off a few times on Darth Hussein. Levin railed against the imperial emperors economic policies confirming what you already know that everything he touches turns to disaster. Many of the stats the Great One points out are covered in 100 Million Americans Out of Work.

Levin explained the emperors political/economic philosophy like no one can:

“Obama believes that the marxist class struggle formulation which pits the proletariat, that is the working class, against the bourgeoisie, that is the wealthy merchant class, still serves as the principal theoretical and rhetorical justification for his assault on the free market. That’s what you heard in the clips but it’s an anathema to the free market, in that the individual has unto himself the power to make up himself when he chooses. There is no static class structure layered atop the free market. The free market is a mutable dynamic and vibrant system of individual interactions that engages all aspects of the human character..”

Levin also fired away at the useless republicans who went along with his majesty raising taxes on all of us!

Another Scandal: DoE punished, fired employees who cooperated with Inspector General investigation

Comments Off on Another Scandal: DoE punished, fired employees who cooperated with Inspector General investigation

The Obama administration has made a nasty habit of punishing whistleblowers, but a new Inspector General investigation into the Department of Energy’s hiring practices shows just how sinister this practice has gotten.

from WFB:

Energy Department officials prohibited subordinates from speaking with congressional investigators about their probe into illicit hiring practices and related whistleblower retaliation allegations, according to the lead investigator.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R., Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, revealed in a letter obtained by the Washington Free Beacon that the deputy secretary of energy issued the gag order following a scathing inspector general report last week.

The report revealed that the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), a division of the Department of Energy (DOE), had violated DOE hiring guidelines in ways that disadvantaged military veterans.

BPA employees who cooperated with the IG’s investigation, the report found, were fired, suspended, or otherwise sanctioned.

Issa revealed in a Wednesday, July 17, letter that Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman “verbally instructed Elliot Mainzer, the individual [Poneman] chose to serve as acting administrator of BPA, that no BPA employees were to talk with anyone regarding these allegations, including congressional investigators.”

Issa suggested that such a gag order could be illegal.

“Obstructing a congressional investigation is a crime,” he noted. “Additionally, denying or interfering with employees’ rights to furnish information to Congress is against the law.”
