Sarah Brady Admits Gun Control Group Not Interested In Prosecuting Criminals

Manasquan, NJ –-(Ammoland.com)- In a stunning admission during an interview on National Public Radio, Sarah Brady, Chairwoman and Co-Founder of the “Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence” , or as I like to call them, ” The Brady Bunch”, publicly admitted that her group, and presumably by default all other Anti Gun Groups, aren’t concerned with actually prosecuting those who engage in criminal conduct.

They are not interested in prosecuting criminals caught lying on a background check form, 4473, in an attempt to straw purchase a firearm, an act which is a felony.

From the interview, mark 2:34: http://tiny.cc/33l7tw

SIMON: But again, let me get you to address the reservation some people have, that we really have good common sense gun control laws on the books now and they’re only sporadically successfully enforced.

BRADY: Well, in the first place, I don’t think many people feel that way unless you’re talking about, are people prosecuted? I have heard complaints from the gun lobby about that. Because if they’re trying to purchase a gun and they were not able to, what the law does now – as far as it enforces it – is to not allow them to get a gun. And our main concern is not to prosecute these people as much as it is to have their complete background checked, so that anybody cannot buy a gun if they’re not qualified. (emphasis added)

Yet a NT Times article from January 13th this year highlights the fact that nearly 80,000 people committed such a felony, yet only 44 were Prosecuted! http://tiny.cc/2lm7tw

47 percent of those 80,000 people were already convicted felons and 19 percent were wanted fugitives. That is a whopping 66 percent, or almost exactly two thirds of those attempts were committed by people who are already barred by Federal and or State Law from even touching a firearm, let alone trying to purchase one. A 2008 Justice Dept Study found that those who are denied because of a failed background check were significantly more likely to commit a violent crime, even after having been denied.

But are not we being told by “The Enlightened Ones” that we simply must have even more gun control laws on the books? And “this time we mean it!”. ” This time, if we just pass XYZ, all these horrible crimes will simply vanish, and of course “do it for the children”.

Surprisingly for the rabidly Anti Gun NY Times, the article even goes on to accurately report what the NRA and the rest of us has been saying for years now.

Start enforcing the laws already on the books before you start ramming new ones down our throats! (unconstitutionally I might add)

BREAKING: Weapons Ban Shot Down, Obama Sends Kerry To U.N. To Pass International Gun Ban

Comments Off on BREAKING: Weapons Ban Shot Down, Obama Sends Kerry To U.N. To Pass International Gun Ban

Folks a Treaty also has to be ratified by 2/3 of the Senate and even more than that, a Treaty MUST be Constitutional as well. A Treaty CAN NOT ban the 2nd amendment even if it’s ratified by 2/3 of the Senate and signed by the President. I might add, the majority of US Citizens WILL NOT tolerate a gun ban.

Do not forget: The federal government may not lawfully circumvent the U.S. Constitution by international treaties.  It may NOT do by Treaty what it is not permitted to do by the U.S. Constitution.

Diane Feinstein’s assault weapon ban may be deader than a doornail, but is the Obama administration trying to bring gun control into the United States via the NRA opposed U.N. Weapons Treaty?

Per the Washington Post.

The National Rifle Association, which is battling a raft of gun control measures on Capitol Hill, also has an international fight on its hand as it gears up to oppose a U.N. treaty designed to restrict the flow of arms to conflict zones.

…The NRA is among the treaty’s most vocal opponents and a founder of the World Forum on Shooting Activities, an international coalition of gun rights activists and gun manufacturers who plan to speak against the treaty.

“What we really object to is the inclusion of civilian firearms within the scope of the ATT,” said Tom Mason, the group’s executive secretary and a lawyer who has represented the NRA at U.N. meetings for nearly two decades. “This is a treaty that really needs to address the transfer of large numbers of military weapons that leads to human rights abuses. We have submitted language that you can define what a civilian firearm is.”

The NRA also argues that the treaty could infringe on gun rights as understood in the United States and could force Americans onto an international registry.

What is a “civilian firearm” in the mind of a UN bureaucrat or the Obama Administration? A pistol? Probably. A Mossberg Tactical Shotgun? Maybe not. An Ar-15? Doubtful. Oh, and don’t even start discussing an international gun registry. A list of gun owners at the government’s fingertips is nothing more than an invitation to try to confiscate every weapon in the country one day. That’s not acceptable today, tomorrow or ever.

Missouri Government caught sending Private Data on Gun Owners to Department of Homeland Security

Comments Off on Missouri Government caught sending Private Data on Gun Owners to Department of Homeland Security

This is probably being done because of some kind of pay back by DHS, as in money of some sort, guaranteed!……This violates Missouri State law !

The Missouri Department of Revenue, who issues concealed carry permits in Missouri, may have been caught transmitting private information on Concealed Carry Permit Holders to the Department of Homeland Security.

Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder held a press conference to announce his involvement in an attempt to stop the Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR) from transmitting this private data to the Federal Government. The data transmission was discovered after a Missouri Resident Eric Griffin’s Concealed Carry permit was denied when he refused to let the DOR scan and transmit his private data to the Feds.

According to LT. Gov. Kinder, this information is not only being turned over to the fed, but also to a private agency in another state. Both actions are specifically prohibited by State Law, and seem like yet another attack on law abiding gun owners.

Kinder, and the Stoddard County Prosecutors, filed legal actions against the Missouri Department of Revenue; late today that action resulted in a temporary restraining order being issued that will force the DOR to stop transmitting this private information to the Feds.

Kinder released a Press Release that said:

“This case has issues of statewide importance implicating serious privacy concerns for law-abiding citizens. These folks have followed the letter of the law and been approved for concealed carry by the proper authorities. They must not be required to share that information with any third parties or the federal government.”

In my opinion, this is just another example of why gun registration is a very dangerous thing to allow. Nowhere in the Constitution are we required to register our weapons, or apply for any sort of permit to carry them. In fact, the second Amendment itself should be our conceal carry permit.

The Orwellian nature of this Missouri program highlights our need to be vigilant when it comes to suggestions of further gun registrations and legislation. The farther we allow them to go down this road, the easier it becomes for them to implement their ultimate agenda of gun confiscation.

Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder backs fee office
lawsuit in Stoddard County
Legal action taken against fee offices over privacy concerns

JEFFERSON CITY – Lt. Governor Peter Kinder today hosted a press conference in the Capitol to announce a lawsuit filed over the collection and scanning of private documents by the Missouri Department of Revenue for residents seeking concealed carry gun permits.

The lawsuit was filed Monday by Russ Oliver in Stoddard County. Oliver is Stoddard County’s prosecuting attorney. He filed the lawsuit as a private attorney on behalf of Eric Griffin.

“I fully support Mr. Oliver in this important legal action in Stoddard County Circuit Court,” Kinder said. “This case has issues of statewide importance implicating serious privacy concerns for law-abiding citizens. These folks have followed the letter of the law and been approved for concealed carry by the proper authorities. They must not be required to share that information with any third parties or the federal government.”

Oliver said Mr. Griffin went to his local Department of Motor Vehicles fee office after passing the application process for a concealed carry gun permit. When he refused to let DMV employees scan some of his documentation, he was denied the permit.

Oliver said Griffin acted within his rights. He said the Department of Revenue apparently installed new computer equipment to record the information as part of the federal Real ID Act of 2005.

But state laws prohibit the department from retaining and collecting these types of documents and from complying with that portion of the Real ID Act. The data the DOR collected was being forwarded to Morpho Trust U.S.A., a Georgia company that specializes in partnering with state and federal governmental agencies.

“There are important privacy concerns for concealed carry holders who justly fear their information being sent to a third party or the federal government,” Oliver said. “Missouri law makes it clear that what is going on here is illegal, and serves no legitimate purpose since the county sheriff is solely charged with the duty of determining applicants’ eligibility for the endorsement.”

The lawsuit seeks a temporary restraining order to stop the Department of Revenue from collecting and sharing the private data and declare their actions unlawful.

Holder defends Obama gun-control measures to state attorneys general

As you read this, bear this in mind as to whether you can trust what Eric Holder is saying or not…Department of Justice Memo Uncovered calls for Gun Registration & then Confiscation

The nation’s top cop vehemently defended President Obama’s gun-control proposals to a room full of state attorneys general on Tuesday and said the measures would not infringe on the rights of lawful gun owners.

Attorney General Eric Holder laid out the executive actions Obama has taken to strengthen the country’s gun laws while vowing not to stop until tighter regulations are in place that will help prevent mass shootings like the one that killed 20 children and six adults in Connecticut last December.

“We will not rest until we’ve done everything in our power to prevent future tragedies like the one that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School,” said Holder at the annual National Association of Attorneys General conference at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C.

The administration has been encouraging private gun sellers throughout the country to use the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) that licensed firearm dealers have access to, according to Holder.

The Justice Department (DOJ) is also fine-tuning the federal database to make sure all the information contained within it is accurate, he said, while other agencies are finalizing regulations to increase access to mental-health services. The Centers for Disease Control has also jump started its research on gun violence again and administration officials are working with schools and houses of worship to develop better safety plans, Holder said.

“Contrary to what a few have said, all of these actions are consistent with the historical use of executive power,” the attorney general said.

“No one will infringe upon the Constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens and gun owners,” he added. “And all are essential parts of any serious, comprehensive effort to combat gun violence — and to prevent dangerous people from acquiring, and wreaking havoc with, deadly weapons.”

Earlier this year Holder and Vice President Biden helped Obama put together a series of 23 gun-control proposals, while urging Congress to require background checks on private gun sales, limit the number of bullets a firearm’s magazine can hold and ban future sales of assault-style weapons.

Many of the proposals have a difficult road ahead, with Senate and House Republicans opposing measures they say would infringe on the personal liberties of Americans.

With such a broad range of gun-related regulations being proposed, gun-control supporters have begun to focus their attention on expanding the criminal background check system for firearm purchases.

On Tuesday, Holder urged the state attorneys general to encourage local and state law enforcement officers to use the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) — a central federal database of crime statistics with more than 11 million records, including a list of people who failed a background check under NICS — saying that “state records are the lifeblood of the system.”

Republican rep claims Obama backers using fake Twitter accounts in gun-control blitz

Comments Off on Republican rep claims Obama backers using fake Twitter accounts in gun-control blitz

President Obama supporters appear to be using fake Twitter accounts to send pro gun-control messages to members of Congress, Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman and conservative bloggers who also reviewed the messages said Monday.

Bloggers first spotted the trend and said they suspected some social media funny business because the senders had sent no other tweets, had no followers and followed nobody.

In addition, blogger Stacy McCain said his review found the majority of the accounts supporting Obama’s gun-control campaign were created less than 48 hours before a member of Congress was contacted.

The tweets in question included the #WeDemandAVote hashtag – which President Obama told gun-control supporters to include in their Twitter messages to Congress.

Stockman is among 16 members of Congress who appear to have received the tweets.

On Monday, the congressman suggested “Obama’s anti-gun activists” were behind the allegedly computer-generated messages, which his office called a “scam” similar to those selling “male enhancement pills.”

Stockman also said accounts are linked directly to a former Obama staffer and called on the president to denounce the spamming.

“Obama’s anti-gun campaign is a fraud,” Stockman said in a statement. “The White House has some explaining to do. To what extent is the White House involved in this attempt to defraud Congress?”

The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

A review of Stockman’s Twitter account by staffers and conservative bloggers shows at least 16 identical tweets.

The Stockman staffers said 10 were computer-generated and six came from real people, though only one lives in Stockman’s southeast Texas district. Two had only one follower, former Obama digital strategist Brad Schenck.

“Schenck somehow found and followed them before they ever tweeted anything, followed anyone or followed any real people,” Stockman said.

Obama and fellow Democrats in Congress have been trying to pass tighter gun-control legislation follows a series of mass shootings, most recently in December inside a Connecticut elementary school where 20 first-graders and six adults were killed.

Of the 16 members of Congress who have received the tweets, nine are Democrats and seven are Republicans.

“It looks like (the tweets) are all being run from some uniform website,” said @defendWallSt, among the first to discover the possible irregularities, in a tweet to FoxNews.com. “My presumption is that the accounts were registered by some organizing group or someone” from Obama for America farmed out the work.

Uncovered Department of Justice Memo calls for Gun Registration & then Confiscation

Our regular readers here are not surprised at this Memo, I’ve been saying for a long time if you study history (Hitler, Stalin, etc) you’ll discover that gun registration is always followed by confiscation……Always!  The government KNOWS that assault weapons bans, universal background checks, etc. will not work unless they confiscate all the guns. Folks, Congress can’t pass a bill and the President sign it and then the 2nd amendment is gone. That isn’t lawful. Congress must amend the Constitution to void any amendment, then after 2/3 of Congress passes that bill, 3/4 of the States MUST ratify that  bill, then the President can sign it into law. Folks that ain’t gonna happen!

The National Rifle Association has obtained a Department of Justice memo calling for national gun registration and confiscation. The nine page “cursory summary” on current gun control initiatives was not officially released by the Obama administration.

The DOJ memo (downloadable here as a PDF) states the administration “believes that a gun ban will not work without mandatory gun confiscation,” according to the NRA, and thinks universal background checks “won’t work without requiring national gun registration.” Obama has yet to publicly support national registration or firearms confiscation, although the memo reveals his administration is moving in that direction.

The memo stands in stark contrast to the administration’s public stance on so-called gun control. White House spokesman Jay Carney said last month that laws proposed by Obama would not “take away a gun from a single law-abiding American.”

DOJ memo states: “Buybacks are ineffective unless massive and coupled with a ban.”
