Illegal Immigrant To Speak At Democratic National Convention

Tonight, for the first time, an undocumented immigrant will speak at a national political convention. Benita Veliz, 27, was brought to Texas from Mexico by her parents when she was 8 years old. She was threatened with deportation in 2009 after rolling through a stop sign and getting stopped by police.

An activist for the DREAM Act, which would grant permanent residency to some immigrants who graduate from U.S. high schools, Veliz was spared deportation last fall. President Obama, by executive order, subsequently stopped the deportation of some illegal immigrants who were brought to the country as children, who can now apply for work permits. That policy went into effect in August.

Feds Drop Charges of Criminal Wrongdoing Against Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Comments Off on Feds Drop Charges of Criminal Wrongdoing Against Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Simply put, the charges were dropped because they couldn’t find any wrongdoing on the Sherriff’s part.

Federal investigators have cleared controversial Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio‘s office of criminal wrongdoing regarding allegations of financial improprieties.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona declined to file charges against the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office after an investigation into claims of abuse of county credit cards, misuse of funds and other financial matters.

The investigation is separate from a federal civil rights lawsuit accusing Arpaio’s office of racial profiling.

The federal financial probe stems from a 2010 request from Maricopa County officials for help in investigating the claims of misuse of county funds. Federal authorities acted as “special deputy county attorneys” tasked with finding possible state charges.

Last year, federal investigators declined to press charges on several of the allegations. In a letter to the Maricopa County officials Friday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced it will not initiate charges on two remaining claims.

Obama DHS Frees Illegal Alien “Dreamers” Arrested For Violent Crimes

Comments Off on Obama DHS Frees Illegal Alien “Dreamers” Arrested For Violent Crimes

All this sounds like treason to me…….

Federal immigration officers have been ordered by the Obama Administration to release illegal immigrants arrested for violent crimes as long as they claim to be “dreamers” who came to the U.S. as children and are being allowed to remain in the country under a new policy.

The astounding directive was made public by a pair of officials who work for separate front-line agencies of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS); Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the U.S. Border Patrol. The men, longtime agents, are also union heads who represent thousands of immigration officers around country.

Illegal immigrants are essentially running the show, avoiding detention by exploiting the Obama Administration’s controversial plan to spare nearly 1 million young illegal immigrants (so-called “dreamers”) from deportation. Under the deferred action process, announced just a few weeks ago, “young people brought to the United States through no fault of their own as children” will have a chance at U.S. citizenship.

Federal officers say no proof is required and the amnesty is being granted based solely on individuals’ claims. “What we are seeing so far concerns us greatly,” said Chris Crane, president of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council and a veteran ICE agent himself. “”Officers have been told that there is no burden for the alien to prove anything…. At this point we don’t even know why DHS has criteria at all, as there is no requirement or burden to prove anything on the part of the alien.”

As an example Crane offered a recent case in which an illegal alien facing multiple violent criminal charges in El Paso was released under the policy. Without any question and without any investigation, the illegal immigrant was ordered freed, Crane said. Homeland Security officials said “he’s a dreamer, release him,” according to Crane, who assures the new policies are compromising public safety.

The federal agent denounced the new Obama immigration program at a Senate press conference along with longtime Border Patrol agent George McCubbin, who is also president of the National Border Patrol Council, the union representing more than 17,000 border agents and personnel. McCubbin slammed Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for assuring that the border is as secure as it has ever been. She “conveniently forgot to ask the men and women on the front line,” McCubbin said, adding that DHS has made it impossible for agents to do their jobs.

Earlier this month the nation’s largest local Border Patrol Union, located in Tucson Arizona, blasted DHS for ordering federal agents patrolling the Mexican border to “run away” and “hide” when encountering a shooter. The directive could not have come at a worst time because Mexican drug-cartel violence is at an all-time high along the southern border and some portions have been taken over by heavily armed traffickers.

Top Immigration Officials Describe Border Chaos Resulting From Admin’s Amnesty Policy

Comments Off on Top Immigration Officials Describe Border Chaos Resulting From Admin’s Amnesty Policy

Sen. Sessions hosted a press conference today with top officials from two unions that represent U.S. immigration law enforcement agencies.

ICE agent Chris Crane is President of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, the union representing America’s more than 7,000 ICE agents and personnel. Border Patrol agent George McCubbin, III is President of the National Border Patrol Council, the union representing America’s more than 17,000 border agents and personnel.

From Sen. Sessions’ remarks (forthcoming in a video tomorrow):
“The Administration claims it has diligently enforced immigration law and that the border is ‘more secure than ever.’ But those on the front lines know this to be untrue. They see the violence, chaos and lawlessness. They have lost confidence in the leadership of their agencies…

As you will hear today, this administration has engaged in a sustained, relentless effort to undermine America’s immigration laws. They have handcuffed and muffled those charged with protecting the public safety and the integrity of our borders. Such action has not only weakened our security but our democracy…

President Obama to let children of illegal immigrants avoid deportation which bypasses Congress

Comments Off on President Obama to let children of illegal immigrants avoid deportation which bypasses Congress

Where will this man stop…this is just another example of his disregard for the Constitution…..everyone should call your Congress person and complain about this blatant disregard for the Constituiton once again.

“It is a short term answer to a long term problem,” Senator Marco Rubio said. “And by once again ignoring the Constitution and going around Congress, this short term policy will make it harder to find a balanced and responsible long term one.”

The Obama administration will stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives. The election-year initiative addresses a top priority of an influential Latino electorate that has been vocal in its opposition to administration deportation policies.

The policy change, described to The Associated Press by two senior administration officials, will affect as many as 800,000 immigrants who have lived in fear of deportation. It also bypasses Congress and partially achieves the goals of the so-called DREAM Act, a long-sought but never enacted plan to establish a path toward citizenship for young people who came to the United States illegally but who have attended college or served in the military.

I guess Obama has forgotten what he told a Hispanic group on Univision, so I’ll help to jog his memory some with this video:

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the new policy Friday morning, one week before President Barack Obama plans to address the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials’ annual conference in Orlando, Fla. Republican presidential challenger Mitt Romney is scheduled to speak to the group on Thursday. Obama plans to discuss the new policy Friday afternoon from the White House Rose Garden.

Under the administration plan, illegal immigrants will be immune from deportation if they were brought to the United States before they turned 16 and are younger than 30, have been in the country for at least five continuous years, have no criminal history, graduated from a U.S. high school or earned a GED, or served in the military. They also can apply for a work permit that will be good for two years with no limits on how many times it can be renewed. The officials who described the plan spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss it in advance of the official announcement.

The policy will not lead toward citizenship but will remove the threat of deportation and grant the ability to work legally, leaving eligible immigrants able to remain in the United States for extended periods. It tracks closely to a proposal offered by Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida as an alternative to the DREAM Act.

“Many of these young people have already contributed to our country in significant ways,” Napolitano wrote in a memorandum describing the administration’s action. “Prosecutorial discretion, which is used in so many other areas, is especially justified here.”

But Federation for American Immigration Reform spokesman Ira Mehlman says the White House is overstepping. “They have no authority to do this,” he says. “Congress makes laws of the United States. They determine who can stay in the United States and who cannot. In terms of what sort of legal challenges might be available, that’s something that’s probably too early to determine at this point — and it will probably have to be up to Congress to defend its own turf.”

The President’s Enumerated Powers, Rulemaking by Executive Agencies, & Executive Orders

Comments Off on The President’s Enumerated Powers, Rulemaking by Executive Agencies, & Executive Orders

Here is the latest article from my retired Constitutional lawyer friend in middle Tennessee……

“none of the House Republicans seem to know that our Constitution sets the agenda, and don’t know that our Constitution also enumerates the powers delegated to the President, they are allowing Obama to carry out his “agenda” to transform our Country into a fascist dictatorship.”

On election night, November 2, 2010, Rep. John Boehner said in his victory speech:

…While our new majority will serve as your voice in the people’s House, we must remember it is the president who sets the agenda for our government. … [emphasis added]

Next morning, Ezra Klein commented in the Cult of the President lives on:

I’d like Boehner to show us where in the Constitution it says that the president sets the agenda for the government.

But Boehner is not as astute as Ezra Klein, and does not know that it is our Constitution which sets the “agenda” for the federal government. The agenda the Constitution sets restricts the federal government to war, international relations & commerce; and domestically, the establishment of an uniform commercial system: a monetary system based on gold & silver, weights & measures, patents & copyrights, a bankruptcy code, and mail delivery (Art. I, Sec. 8, cls.1-16). 1

And because none of the House Republicans seem to know that our Constitution sets the agenda, and don’t know that our Constitution also enumerates the powers delegated to the President, they are allowing Obama to carry out his “agenda” to transform our Country into a fascist dictatorship.

What are the Enumerated Powers of the President?

The powers of the President are “carefully limited” and precisely defined by our Constitution. In Federalist Paper No. 71 (last para), Alexander Hamilton asks,

…what would be … feared from an elective magistrate of four years’ duration, with the confined authorities of a President of the United States?…[emphasis added] 2

The answer to Hamilton’s question is this: There would be nothing to fear if Presidents obeyed the Constitution. But they don’t obey it because the dolts in Congress don’t make them obey it!

Well, then! Here is the complete list of the President’s enumerated powers:
