Christians may be on verge of extinction in Middle East, study says

Comments Off on Christians may be on verge of extinction in Middle East, study says

Well, I thought that Islam was a peaceful and tolerant religion? Guess not, unless your a Muslim otherwise your in danger.

As many Christians in the U.S. sit down to a warm Christmas meal, a study is claiming their counterparts in the Middle East may be on the verge of going extinct. The controversial report, conducted by right-leaning think tank Civitas, says between one-half and two-thirds of Christians in the Middle East have left the region or been killed in the past century. “There is now a serious risk that Christianity will disappear from its biblical heartlands,” it says. The study adds that Christians face greater hostility worldwide than any other religious group, noting the biggest threat to be “militant Islam.”

The report surveys in detail the extent of Christian persecution in seven countries – Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Nigeria, Burma, China and India. And it cites findings from the Freedom House think-tank report to highlight the way that Muslim-majority countries are the most hostile to Christians.

They impose the greatest curbs on religious freedoms and make up 12 of the 20 countries judged to be “unfree” on the grounds of religious tolerance. Of the seven states receiving the lowest possible score, four are Muslim.

Middle East a “Bump In The Road”?

Comments Off on Middle East a “Bump In The Road”?

Well, if insulting Israel wasn’t enough, now Obama chooses to insult the intelligence of the US citizenry and call what’s happened in the Middle East and North Africa a “bump in the road”. Really? Murder is a bump in the road? From the Mail online…

President Barack Obama referred to recent events in the Middle East, including violent attacks on embassies and the terrorist murder of a US ambassador and three other Americans, as ‘bumps in the road’.

The comment came in Obama’s CBS ’60 Minutes’ interview that aired on Sunday night.

Steve Kroft, the interviewer, asked: ‘Have the events that took place in the Middle East, the recent events in the Middle East given you any pause about your support for the governments that have come to power following the Arab Spring?

Obama responded: ‘Well, I’d said even at the time that this is going to be a rocky path. The question presumes that somehow we could have stopped this wave of change.

Bumps in the road: The President said the killing of ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Libya was some of the ‘bumps in the road’ along the ‘rocky path’ to Middle Eastern peace

asdasdfTerror attack: It took the White House some days to admit the sacking of the consulate in Benghazi was pre-planned

‘I think it was absolutely the right thing for us to do to align ourselves with democracy, universal rights — a notion that people have to be able to participate in their own governance.

‘But I was pretty certain and continue to be pretty certain that there are going to be bumps in the road because, you know, in a lot of these places, the one organizing principle has been Islam.’

Ambassador Chris Stevens died of apparent asphyxiation at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi after an attack launched under the cover of a demonstration against a crude, low-budget anti-Islam movie mad ein California.

Sean Smith, another diplomat, and former U.S. Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were also killed.

Republicans leapt on Obama’s ‘bumps in the road’ comment. Ari Fleischer, former press secretary to President George W. Bush said on Twitter: ‘I guess when u win a Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing “an attack that kills an Ambassador is just a ‘bump in the road.’

asdasfasdfCriticism: Obama faced anger from those who saw his ‘bumps in the road’ comment as too dismissive

The Obama administration initially insisted the attack was a spontaneous result of anger about the movie and had nothing to do with al-Qaeda or U.S. policy in the region.

After the head of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Centre told Congress the attack was terrorism, Obama’s spokesman Jay Carney then stated: ‘It is, I think, self-evident that what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack.

‘Our embassy was attacked violently and the result was four deaths of American officials.’

On the same day as the five-hour Benghazi consulate attack, in which RPGs and mortars were used, the U.S. embassy in Cairo was targeted by a mob that tore down the American flag and replaced it with a black Islamic flag.

There were also attacks on U.S. missions in Tunis, Sana’a, Khartoum and Islamabad.

Stevens, the first U.S. ambassador to be murdered since 1979, was a fluent Arabic and French speaker widely viewed as one of the greatest American diplomatic assets in the region.

A diary written by Stevens and obtained by CNN after being found in the wreckage of the Benghazi consulate revealed that he had been concerned about security threats in the city and a rise in Islamic extremism.

A White House official firmly rejecetd this, telling ABC News: ‘It’s just not true that he was characterising the attack in Benghazi – the question doesn’t even make mention of it. He’s speaking about broad trends.’

New Film: Jesus Wasn’t Divine & He Was Born After His Mother Was Raped by a Roman Soldier

Comments Off on New Film: Jesus Wasn’t Divine & He Was Born After His Mother Was Raped by a Roman Soldier

Well folks even tho this is definitely blasphemy of Jesus and Christianity, you won’t see rioting or burning cars in the streets of America. In stark contrast to what the Muslims are doing in the middle east now to a 13 minute documentary/film of which 90% haven’t see and made ironically by an Egyptian, not an American. So why aren’t they rioting Egyptian embassies? Anyway my point is, Christians while being greatly offended and vehemently objecting to such a film, will not be rioting because of it. Matthew 5:44 says, “But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you;” …now that is not weakness, but love.

Paul Verhoevens New Film to Claim Jesus Born as Result of RapeLast year, a Hollywood documentary wondered if Jesus Christ was a communist. This year, a totally separate film is slated to claim that the Son of Man was born after a Roman soldier raped his mother. The movie, which will be based on Paul Verhoeven’s controversial book, “Jesus of Nazareth,” is set to begin filming in the near future.

According to the blog Wizbang, Verhoeven’s 2008 book was filled with some controversial claims. Aside from dismissing Christ’s many Biblical miracles, it charged that Mary’s pregnancy was anything but immaculate and that it resulted from non-consensual sex with a Roman centurion. This, of course, would mean that Jesus wasn’t (and isn’t) the son of God, as stated in Christian tradition. The author also claims that Christ was never betrayed by Judas Iscariot.

“As for Verhoeven’s book, the adaptation will depict Jesus in a more human light, hence the reason the miracles and the resurrection are being stripped from the story,” IndieWire reported. “Instead, Jesus will be portrayed as an ethicist and a radical prophet, whose message became too politically strong for the Romans to idly accept and endure. While that version may not seem blasphemous to Verhoeven, it more than likely is for many.”

Here’s an official description of Verhoeven’s “Jesus of Nazareth” that has caused so much controversy:

Building on the work of the great Biblical scholars of the twentieth century—Rudolf Bultman, Raymond Brown, Jane Schabert and Robert Funk, founder of the Jesus Seminars, among others—filmmaker Paul Verhoeven disrobes the mythical Jesus to reveal a man who is, after all, startlingly familiar to us, a man who has much in common with other great political leaders throughout history, human beings who believed that change was coming in their lifetimes.

Gone is the Jesus of the miracles, gone the son of God, gone the weaver of arcane parables whose meanings are obscure. In their place Verhoeven gives us his vision of Jesus as a complete man, someone who was changed by events, the leader of a political movement, and, perhaps most importantly, someone who, in his speeches and sayings, introduced a new ethics in which enlightened behavior and the embrace of human contradictions transcend the mechanics of value and worth that had defined the material world before Jesus.

Coming to a deeper understanding of the historical Jesus has been a lifelong passion for Verhoeven, who for the last quarter-century has been among the very few nonacademics participating in the Jesus Seminars. Verhoeven assumed that one day he would make a film of the life of Jesus. Then he realized that it must be a book. Steeped in Biblical scholarship but free of the institutional biases, whether academic or religious, that so often dictate the terms of discussion of the historical Jesus, Jesus of Nazareth is a book that builds a bridge reaching all the way back to Jesus’s lifetime, all the way forward to the present, and from biblical scholars to lay readers whose interest might be personal or political.

Top Muslim calls for U.N. to end free speech

Folks don’t let something like this make you in favor of ending the 1st amendment, you’ll be sorry.

Claims violence over film proof constitutional protection ‘benefits no one’

120916bayyah

One of the world’s most influential Muslims is now calling on the United Nations – in light of the YouTube movie blamed for violent protests across the Mideast – to impose international restrictions on free speech, criminalizing any statement that impugns Islam.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Bayyah, a professor at King Abdul Aziz University in Saudi Arabia, is a member of several international organizations, including the Centre for Studying the Aims of Sharia in the U.K., as well as serving as the vice chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.

The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre ranked bin Bayyah No. 31 on its list of the 500 most influential Muslims in the world for 2011.

In a public declaration issued to several Islamic bodies, including the All Dulles Area Muslim Society, one of the largest Muslim mosques in the D.C. metro area and the U.S., bin Bayyah called upon “people of reason and understanding” to put a legal stop to statements that would offend Muslims and thereby threaten world peace.

“We ask everyone to ponder the ramifications of provoking the feelings of over one billion people by a small party of people who desires not to seek peace nor fraternity between members of humanity,” bin Bayyah wrote. “This poses a threat to world peace with no tangible benefit realized. Is it not necessary in today’s world for the United Nations to issue a resolution criminalizing the impingement of religious symbols? We request all religious and political authorities, as well as people of reason to join us in putting a stop to this futility that benefits no one.”

Bin Bayyah’s statement was titled a “Declaration Regarding the Offensive Video to Muslims,” a clear reference to the YouTube film, “Innocence of Muslims,” which has been widely – if controversially – blamed for inciting riots against embassies in the Middle East and the resulting death of four U.S. diplomats.

The Obama administration had similarly asked Google, the parent company of YouTube, to review whether “Innocence of Muslims” violates its terms-of-use policies.

Thus far, Google has refused to remove the video from YouTube, though it blocked access in some sensitive countries.

Workplace violence? Nashville Muslim woman accused of making terrorist threats toward co-workers

Comments Off on Workplace violence? Nashville Muslim woman accused of making terrorist threats toward co-workers

This type thing just reinforces the reasons for the trouble in getting their mosque built in Murfreesboro,Tn.  Many Muslims here in the US despite what the spokesman for the Islamic Center of Nashville said in the Tennessean about “condemning violence of all forms and condones peaceful coexistence and love for our neighbors..” want to take over the US because they see us as infidels.

Nashville is a dumping ground for the refugee resettlement program. Whole Muslim communities from Somalia are resettled there

“Nashville woman accused of making terrorist threats toward co-workers” The Tennessean,September 8, 2012

A Nashville woman was charged with attempted terrorism Friday after investigators said she threatened to hurt co-workers at the South Nashville Dell facility last weekend.

The trouble began when a CEVA Logistics employee said his co-worker Amal Ahmed Abdullahi, 29, of Zermatt Avenue, approached him during his shift last Saturday.

According to a release from Metro police, Abdullahi told the employee that “her people were dying for Allah every day; that she was ready to die for Allah; that this whole country will be Muslim soon; that this country is full of non-believers and that this place (her work place) is full of non-believers; that all unbelievers should die; that her life starts after death; that her life is not here, nobody pays attention to her and she should pick up a gun and shoot all these people.”

CEVA Logistics signed the arrest warrant as the prosecutor against Abdullahi, accusing her of intimidating/coercing a civilian population.

Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said Friday that he was not immediately aware of anyone previously being charged with attempted terrorism in Nashville.

“In the times in which we live, statements such as the ones alleged to have been made in this case are not ignored,” he said.

Metro police were notified of the incident on Thursday and brought Abdullahi in for questioning on Friday.

At first, she denied the conversation but later admitted to talking about a religious topic with her co-worker, police said. She is being held at the Metro Jail on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

David Raybin, a prominent Nashville defense attorney, said police acted correctly in the case, but he questioned the charge, which is listed as a class A felony on the affidavit against Abdullahi.

Shock over arrest

Still, news of the arrest was enough to send shock waves through Nashville’s Muslim community.

“We are very saddened to hear this, that one of our people acted this way,” said Amir Arain, spokesman for the Islamic Center of Nashville. “Islam condemns violence of all forms and condones peaceful coexistence and love for our neighbors..”

Do Crosses at Catholic University Violate “Human Rights” of Muslims?

Is this about the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard of or what?   If they don’t like a cross at a Catholic University, then don’t go there or take an online course. So I guess we’re all just going to have to do things that violate our conscience in order not to offend a muslim and to keep them from violated their consciences. Would a muslim university put up crosses in a room for Christians to pray? You know they wouldn’t.

The Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights confirmed that it is investigating allegations that Catholic University violated the human rights of Muslim students by not allowing them to form a Muslim student group and by not providing them rooms without Christian symbols for their daily prayers.

The investigation alleges that Muslim students “must perform their prayers surrounded by symbols of Catholicism – e.g., a wooden crucifix, paintings of Jesus, pictures of priests and theologians which many Muslim students find inappropriate.”

A spokesperson for the Office of Human Rights told Fox News they had received a 60-page complaint against the private university. The investigation, they said, could take as long a six months.

The complaint was filed by John Banzhaf, an attorney and professor at George Washington University Law School. Banzhaf has been involved in previous litigation against the school involving the same-sex residence halls. He also alleged in his complaint involving Muslim students that women at the university were being discriminated against. You can read more on those allegations by clicking here.

Banzhaf said some Muslim students were particularly offended because they had to meditate in the school’s chapels “and at the cathedral that looms over the entire campus – the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.”

“It shouldn’t be too difficult somewhere on the campus for the university to set aside a small room where Muslims can pray without having to stare up and be looked down upon by a cross of Jesus,” he told Fox News.

A spokesman for Catholic University released a statement to Fox News indicating they had not seen any legal filings — but would respond once they do.

“Our faithfulness to our Catholic tradition has also made us a welcome home to students of other religions,” said  Victor Nakas, associate vice president for public affairs. “No students have registered complaints about the exercise of their religions on our campus.”

In a 2010 interview with National Public Radio, university president John Garvey acknowledged that they don’t set aside prayer rooms for Muslim students.

“We make classrooms available, or our chapels are places where they can pray,” he told NPR. “We don’t offer Halal meat, although there are always meals that conform to Halal regulations, that allow students to do what they want.”

Banzhaf said that it is technically not illegal for Catholic University to refuse to provide rooms devoid of religious icons.

“It may not be illegal, but it suggests they are acting improperly and probably with malice,” he said. “They do have to pray five times a day, they have to look around for empty classrooms and to be sitting there trying to do Muslim prayers with a big cross looking down or a picture of Jesus or a picture of the Pope  is not very conductive to their religion.”

As for the creation of a Muslim student group, Banzhaf said the university has an association of Jewish students – so why not a Muslim group?
